Tehran reports attacking a American military facility in Bahrain, as Iran launched operations across the region in retaliation for a "massive" and ongoing offensive targeting the nation by the US and Israel.

That preceding assault - executed at around 06:15 GMT - has so far focused on areas associated with the Iranian leadership, with US President Donald Trump urging the Iranian people to rise up against the regime.

In Israel, sirens were heard nationwide after the Israel Defense Forces stated it had detected an incoming Iranian missile barrage.

The Ministry of Defence of the UAE announced that the nation has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses responded to the projectiles with high efficiency and destroyed a several projectiles," the statement continued.

Officials reported missile fragments landed in a populated district in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some material damage and the death of one civilian.

The US Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
