Renowned Star The actor Pat Finn, Known For Parts in Friends and The Middle, Dies at Age 60.
Stateside entertainer Pat Finn, who was seen in popular programs such as Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has succumbed at the age of 60.
The skilled improv artist died at home in LA this Monday after undergoing cancer treatment beginning in 2022, per news outlets.
"Pat never met a stranger - solely future friends he had yet to meet," his relatives stated in a statement.
They continued that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with zest and passion".
An Extensive TV Career
His initial on-screen part was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he played the lead character's sibling.
He also had a recurring role on "Murphy Brown" from 1995 to 1997.
He appeared as the character Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in the late 90s, playing a party host who would assign tedious tasks to his guests.
Throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s, he had guest spots on numerous hit series, like:
- The King of Queens
- "Friends"
- That '70s Show
- House, M.D.
He was most recognized for playing Bill Norwood in The Middle, appearing throughout eight series over nearly a decade.
His work in movies include "It's Complicated" and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
Off-Screen Life
Away from his television work, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and worked as a teacher at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was involved with a comedy group of six called Beer Shark Mice.
"He taught, supported, and inspired countless students over the years and you'd be hard-pressed to find someone who has an unkind word to say about him," his relatives stated.
Paying homage, fellow actor actor Richard Kind said there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, grounded individual you could encounter".
"Perpetually optimistic, helping you be funnier and better. A wonderful father and man," Kind wrote online.
The actor is leaves behind his spouse Donna, his three kids, and his family.
