Former President Donald Trump revealed on the weekend that he has asked the relatives of a National Guard member fatally shot last week to visit the executive mansion.

He noted that he conversed with her family and they were “heartbroken”.

Soldier Sarah Beckstrom, 20, was fatally shot in a violent incident on last Wednesday in DC.

Her colleague, Staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, continues receiving treatment in grave state.

Gatherings across the state have taken place in their memory.

Presidential Invitation

The president explained he’s proposed a meeting at the presidential residence for the families of both members of the state National Guard.

“I told them: ‘When you’re able, because that’s a difficult moment, visit the White House. We’re going to recognize her,” the president told journalists. “And in the same way with Andrew, recover or not.”

Community Support

Mourners assembled over the weekend at Webster County high school in West Virginia to honor Beckstrom.

Both the soldiers had been working with the West Virginia National Guard as part of the president’s national effort to assist law enforcement in Washington DC.

Remembering Beckstrom

“Sarah was the type of pupil that educators desired. She conducted herself with inner fortitude, a bright grin and a optimistic attitude that lifted those around her,” the principal, the head of Beckstrom’s former high school, stated to the media. “She was kind, caring and always eager to help others.”

Service plans for Beckstrom are yet to be finalized.

Legal Steps and Government Changes

Law enforcement have indicted a 29-year-old suspect with a charge of first-degree murder and charges of assault with intent to kill while carrying a weapon.

The tragedy led the Trump administration to halt refugee claims and temporarily stop providing visas to holders of passports from Afghanistan.

Condition of Andrew Wolfe

Andrew Wolfe, a native of Martinsburg, began his service in early 2019 and is a graduate of Musselman high school, according to the news agency.

He remains under medical supervision and is “in a critical fight”, West Virginia leader Morrisey stated on television.

The state’s top lawyer Bondi told the program that she aimed to speak to his relatives.

Legacy of the Fallen Soldier

Sarah, from Summersville, graduated from Webster County High in June 2023 and enlisted soon after, serving as a MP with distinction, as stated by the state guard.

“She had a lot of goodness and she definitely had bravery,” the governor told the gathering at the service. “Though her life lasted far too short, she has left a mark that’s going to be remembered always.”
