White House Condemns 'Democratic Hoax' as More Jeffrey Epstein Photographs Made Public
House Democrats have published a new tranche of what they termed "alarming" photographs from the property of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, including notably Donald Trump, Bill Clinton, and former British royal Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
The first release of 19 images—some of which have been seen before—along with another 70 unveiled later on Friday constitute a tiny fraction of the almost 100,000 images handed over to the House oversight committee, which is probing the conduct and connections of Epstein.
The disgraced financier was a victim of an apparent self-inflicted death in a New York detention cell in 2019 after being charged with sex-trafficking crimes.
Notable Figures in the Images
Included in the high-profile individuals seen in the initial batch are public figures such as movie maker Woody Allen; Microsoft founder Bill Gates; and Richard Branson, originator of the Virgin business group.
Donald Trump is pictured in three of the initial 19 images. In one, he is photographed with six women, whose faces are redacted.
White House Reaction
The White House responded to the release in a statement, charging Democrats of selectively "cherry-picking" the images for electoral motives and to "seek to establish a false account."
"The Democrat hoax against President Trump has been consistently disproven," a presidential representative said, asserting that "the current government has achieved more for Epstein's victims than Democrats have ever done by frequently urging transparency, releasing reams of papers, and calling for further investigations into Epstein's Democratic associates."
Panel Member Remarks
The photos were released devoid of explanation, but per a California Democrat and ranking member of the investigative panel, they prompt further inquiries about Epstein's connections to wealthy individuals.
"The moment has come to halt this White House cover-up and deliver justice to the survivors of Jeffrey Epstein and his well-connected allies," he stated in a comment.
The publication of these images occurs alongside the House panel continuing its investigation into the Epstein case.
